I think it’s safe to say that my obsession with healthy donuts is very real and that Sophie Jaffe, founder of Philosophie has officially made the best recipe ever. I absolutely fell in love with these easy paleo donuts the first time I saw them on her page and am excited to share this guest recipe with you.
These donuts are insanely yum and are perfect for an easy Saturday brunch to ring in Spring! They’re paleo, vegan, and gluten-free and guess what: they’re also packed with beauty-boosting superfoods like cacao and spirulina, but taste amazing. Who doesn’t love that? Sophie made these with her superfood protein blends and the almond flour-based Simple Mills vanilla cake mix and was kind enough to share this recipe with us. I hope you enjoy!
Gather This:
1 box Simple Mills Vanilla Cake Mix
1 tsp each of Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend, Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend, and Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
1 vanilla Kite Hill Yogurt
1 box plant based food coloring (we love Color Garden)
Optional: Sarai’s Matcha Superfood spread (could also use green dream in yogurt to achieve the green color) dried flowers, shredded coconut, or bee pollen for toppings.
Do This:
Make the batter according to the instructions. Separate the uncooked batter into 3 smaller bowls with one tsp of Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend in one bowl, Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend in another, and Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend in the last bowl.
Use a donut machine like this one to cook each flavor.
Set aside donuts to cool. Grab 2 more bowls and your Kite Hill yogurt, separate that in half into each bowl. Add the pink food coloring to one batch and pink/blue to the other, stir well.
We used the Sarai’s Matcha spread mentioned above, for the green donuts.
Frost donuts and sprinkle with toppings, enjoy these high vibrational treats that make you feel good from the inside out! HAPPY BRUNCH tribe! Xx
