5 Easy and Beauty-Boosting Vegan Smoothie Recipes

Smoothie season is still going strong! We love a smoothie as a quick and easy way to pack in a ton of nutrients and superfoods to help us feel our best. Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, snack, or a post-workout refuel there’s a smoothie recipe that’s sure to satisfy your taste buds and leave you feeling energized and nourished.

Smoothies are also one of our favorite ways to get in a serving of our Plant-Based Collagen Boost Blends. We love that you can either enhance the flavor or benefits of your smoothie with a blend like Cacao Calm, Matcha, or Vanilla, or add an unflavored boost with Original to support hair, skin, and nail health with our blend of collagen-supporting plant botanicals but without changing the taste of your smoothie.

Need tips for making the perfect smoothie? We’ve got ‘em! We included a list of our favorite smoothie tips plus a roundup of our 5 favorite easy and beauty-boosting smoothie recipes.

To make a smoothie thicker:

Use frozen fruit! Frozen bananas are a great base for almost any smoothie, but we also love adding frozen mango, blueberries, or even avocado to thicken up a smoothie. This might sound a little crazy, but one of our favorite ways to thicken a smoothie and sneak in some extra veggies is to throw in some frozen zucchini or cauliflower. We *promise* you can’t taste it, but it works wonders to make a smoothie thick and ice-creamy!

For a creamier smoothie:

Use a creamy non-dairy milk or non-dairy yogurt instead of water. We love oat milk or cashew milk for a super creamy smoothie. You can also add in a tablespoon of coconut cream for a velvety texture. Avocado and banana can also be used to make a smoothie creamier!

To pack in the protein:

Add a scoop of your favorite vegan protein powder in whatever flavor you like! If you’d like to skip the protein powder, a few tablespoons of non-dairy protein yogurt, a tablespoon of peanut butter, or hemp seeds will also pack a protein punch.

To give it a caffeine boost:

Replace water with coffee (if it suits the vibe of your smoothie - try this Cold Brew & Cacao Beauty Smoothie!) or add in a teaspoon of matcha (might we recommend Matcha Plant-Based Collagen Boost?).

For a superfood boost:

Add in a teaspoon of chia or flax seeds for extra fiber and omega-3s. Try adding in a handful of spinach or kale to your smoothie for added vitamins and minerals. Oh, and definitely add a scoop of your favorite Plant-Based Collagen Boost to support and protect your body’s natural collagen production process and promote optimal hair, skin, nail, and joint health!

Ready to make some smoothies?

We’ve rounded up 5 of our go-to smoothies that we make on repeat! Check them out:

Hailey Bieber Strawberry Skin Glaze Smoothie

Hailey Bieber's Strawberry Skin Glaze Smoothie (Vegan Version)

Hailey Bieber’s smoothie made in collaboration with Erewhon market has been getting a lot of attention lately, and although it may not leave your skin looking like a glazed donut, there are definitely some benefits to this smoothie we can’t ignore!  Our version of Hailey Bieber’s smoothie is entirely vegan and plant-based because we swapped animal-based collagen peptides for our Vanilla Plant-Based Collagen Boost blend.

We’re loving the addition of sea moss, which is high in nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and E, as well as minerals. Sea moss has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and to promote a healthy immune system and good gut health and is a great way to supplement your Plant-Based Collagen Boost routine. As for taste? Our team thinks this smoothie tastes like an extra-creamy, slightly coconutty strawberry milkshake.

Easy Spirulina Smoothie

Easy Spirulina Smoothie

Get your greens in with this Easy Spirulina Smoothie! This refreshing smoothie is surprisingly delicious for being as nutrient-dense and antioxidant-rich as it is. The star component of this smoothie, spirulina is a freshwater algae loaded with B-12s, 60% protein making it a complete protein and a ton of minerals. Its detoxifying properties are full of antioxidants making it a great way to start your day or refresh your body after a workout. Don’t be afraid of spinach and cauliflower as ingredients for this smoothie, they simply add texture, color, and nutrients.

Mint Chip Spirulina Smoothie

Mint Chip Spirulina Smoothie

Have we sold you on the benefits of spirulina yet? This superfood ingredient is *so* versatile and will make any of your smoothies a vibrant green. This Mint Chip Spirulina Smoothie totally tastes like your favorite mint chip ice cream, but is made with all-natural sweeteners and won’t give you a sugar crash later. We used vanilla protein powder and Vanilla Plant-Based Collagen Boost to give this smoothie a sweet and ice-creamy flavor underneath the bright pop of mind. Cacao nibs give it a fun crunch and nutrient boost as a stand-in for chocolate chips.

Vegan Coconut Cloud Smoothie

Vegan Coconut Cloud Smoothie

You’ve probably seen this smoothie on your Instagram or TikTok feed before- mostly because it cost $17! The Coconut Cloud Smoothie is Marianna Hewitt’s collaboration with Erewhon market (it came before the Strawberry Glaze smoothie) and is made with buzzy ingredients like blue magik spirulina, coconut cream, almond butter, and vanilla collagen. Our version is easy to make it home and won’t cost you nearly as much! Pineapple, banana, avocado, MALK almond milk, and almond butter make up the bulk of this smoothie, while coconut cream and Vanilla Plant-Based Collagen Boost make it vegan and ultra-creamy. Its stunning, vibrant blue color comes from Blue Majik powder, which is a nickname for a type of algae, just like spirulina! Blue Majik is full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that make it a nutrient powerhouse worthy of its title as a superfood.

Mint Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

Mint Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

We’re firm believers that chocolate is something you can eat at any time of day, and this Mint Chocolate Smoothie bowl is one of our favorite ways to do just that. We think it tastes just like a peppermint patty but is actually so nourishing. Cacao powder from Cacao Calm plant-based Collagen Boost lends this smoothie its rich, chocolate flavor. Cacao is a less-processed form of chocolate, meaning it retains more of its nutrients. It’s been shown to boost mood by increasing serotonin (the happy chemical!) in your brain after eating. Oh, and our secret ingredient to make this smoothie extra thick, fudgy, and delicious? Sweet potato. Trust us.

We hope you get a chance to whip out your trusty blender and give these smoothies a try asap!  P.S- we’d love if you left a recipe review if you loved it!
