Matcha and blueberry is one of our favorite flavor combinations, and these fun and delicious flavors really shine in this Matcha Beauty Blueberry Chia Pudding. Matcha has an earthy, slightly bitter flavor that is perfectly balanced by a touch of sweetness and tang from blueberries. Plus, the combination of vibrant green from matcha and dark purple from the frozen blueberries makes this recipe a treat to look at, too!
Chia pudding is one of our staple recipes for breakfast, snack, or even dessert. It comes together in just a few minutes but is so filling and packed with nutrients to energize and nourish your body. Chia seeds are an ancient superfood that are loaded with healthy fats, high quality protein, and antioxidants. They absorb liquid to create a gel-like texture that is super fun to eat and helps keep you feeling satisfied.
Matcha is another one of our favorite superfood ingredients for energy. Since it’s a type of green tea, matcha naturally contains caffeine, but unlike coffee, it also contains the amino acid L-Theanine which helps slow the absorption of caffeine in the body, resulting in a more focused and sustained boost of energy and can prevent a caffeine crash later.
Matcha is much higher in nutrients than the green tea you might drink from steeping a tea bag in water, since matcha is made using the entire tea leaf. The tea is traditionally shade-grown in the Uji region of Japan, resulting in high-quality tea leaves that are packed with antioxidants, chlorophyll, and vitamins that can promote healthier skin from the inside out. Our Matcha Beauty Plant-Based Collagen Boost Blend uses organic matcha green tea that was been tested for pesticides and proven to be of the highest quality so you can feel good about your caffeine and collagen boost!
The layer of blueberries at the bottom of this Matcha Beauty Blueberry Chia Pudding adds another fun layer of flavor and texture that makes this recipe just as fun to eat as it is to make. Feel free to swap out the blueberries for your favorite fruit - raspberries, strawberries, or even mango would be super delicious here!
