Alcohol-Free Blueberry Passionfruit Coconut Margarita

Trust us when we say that this mocktail version of a Blueberry Passionfruit Coconut Margarita is going to blow you away. It is a perfect balance of sweet and creamy, and it has just the right amount of coconut to taste without being too overwhelming. It's incredibly refreshing and also has some essential minerals and nutrients snuck inside there with the added addition of our Passionfruit Sea Moss Refresher😉 It's the ideal blend of tart and sweet, and it's a delicious drink made for the summer heat! Prepare to take one sip of this mocktail and fall completely in love with it.

This margarita is super simple to make and all of the ingredients are pretty easy to keep on hand. All you have to do is put all of your ingredients in a shaker filled with ice, then pour your chilled mixture into a glass. You can also optionally garnish your drink with blueberries or passionfruit, and you can even rim your glass with toasted coconut! We included the directions on how to achieve the perfectly rimmed glass below, but let’s focus on making the actual drink.

Here are the ingredients you'll need to make this mocktail:

Coconut Milk: In this recipe, you'll need some coconut milk from a can to get that strong, authentic coconut flavor. Many people prefer to use coconut cream for some added sweetness and a thicker base in their drink, but we wanted the consistency to be a bit lighter in this recipe, which is why we opted for coconut milk.

Sweetener: If you are one of those people looking to make your margarita a bit sweeter, you can add in a little bit of honey or agave to your drink for a more natural taste. Add your sweetener into your drink a little bit at a time so you can adjust to your preferred taste. Remember, you can always add more, you can’t take some out! Agave is a traditional ingredient used in margaritas, so we chose to continue with tradition and added a dollop of that to our shaker.

Passionfruit Sea Moss Refresher: Remember when we said we snuck in some essential minerals and nutrients into this mocktail? We did that by adding in our Passionfruit Sea Moss Refresher. Our refreshers are made with organic Irish sea moss, which is a marine superfood known for its high mineral and nutrient content. Our passionfruit refresher has a slight coconut flavor alongside the passionfruit, which fits perfectly into this recipe. We love incorporating sea moss into our drink recipes for an extra hydrating boost. Find more of our sea moss recipes here!

Blueberries: The name Blueberry Passionfruit Coconut Margarita comes from the muddled blueberries we added into this recipe. Blueberries have a very specific flavor profile that can be described to be pretty tart with some mild sweetness. They are also beautiful in color and add some pizazz to our margarita! If you really want to get fancy, you can tie in that passionfruit flavor from our Passionfruit Sea Moss Refresher with the blueberries by adding in some passionfruit pulp to the muddled blueberries as well.

Lime: This Blueberry Passionfruit Margarita is nearly finished, but it needs some acidity. We used the juice of half of a lime to add in some more tartness to balance those other sweet flavors.

Add all of these ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake for about 20 seconds until everything is mixed and chilled, and then strain over a glass with ice.

You can garnish this recipe with some blueberries skewered on a toothpick or you can add half a passionfruit on top of your drink. You can even add some toasted coconut to the rim of your glass for a little something extra!

How to rim your margarita:

We said we would teach you how to perfectly rim the glass for your margarita, and we’re keeping our promise. Here's how:

  1. Toast shredded coconut in a pan over low heat for about 4-6 minutes, stirring frequently, until it's just golden brown. Transfer it to a small plate to cool.
  2. Cut a wedge from a lime and run the cut side along the rim of each glass.
  3. Dip the rims of the glasses into the toasted coconut, rolling them side to side until evenly coated.
  4. Add a lime wedge to your rim.

This Blueberry Passionfruit Coconut Margarita Mocktail is sure to turn heads and be a crowd pleaser. Serve this up as a single mocktail or double the recipe and make a few to go round! If you are a mocktail lover, try some of our other favorite alcohol-free recipes.
