Skin-Boosting Blueberry & Vanilla Smoothie

If you are looking for a simple and fast smoothie that helps make your skin glow, you have come to the right place! We make this blueberry and vanilla smoothie as a low-ingredient smoothie we know will be both tasty but beneficial. You can always add in your own ingredients to help with texture or to add in some greens, but it is the perfect base for just about anything.

The base of the smoothie is 1 frozen banana to help make it thick and creamy. Bananas in smoothies are amazing sources of potassium. After that, we add in one cup of frozen blueberries. Blueberries are excellent sources of antioxidants and vitamin C. Antioxidants and vitamin C are important parts of our body's natural collagen production, which aids our hair, skin, and nail health.*

Another element of our blueberry and vanilla smoothie is our vanilla vegan collagen support blend. We would add-in one scoop or one stick pack to help bring in the vanilla, sweet flavor, and to aid in the creamy texture of the smoothie. One of our star ingredients in our beauty-boosting formula is Ama berry which also is rich in vitamin C like blueberries.

Amla berry (also known as Indian gooseberry) is commonly used in ayurvedic medicine. This berry (which is native to Asia) is one of the richest sources of vitamin C. This vitamin is one of the most important vitamins in the synthesis of collagen. Vitamin C is required to support two enzymes (prolyl hydroxylase and lysyl hydroxylase) that are essential for collagen synthesis, so having enough vitamin C is crucial for collagen support. This vitamin also plays a crucial role in protecting collagen that already exists in the body. Since vitamin C works as an antioxidant, it is able to help neutralize free radicals, which are known for causing oxidative stress. Oxidative stress degrades collagen, so antioxidant support is crucial to prevent this from happening.

Next in the smoothie, you'll add in your nut butter of choice. We like to use almond butter for protein, but you can also use sunflower butter or peanut butter! Add a dash of cinnamon and 1-2 cups of almond milk depending on how thick you want the smoothie. Now you have a delicious and antioxidant-rich smoothie.
